Otherwise known as DJ Yahtzel and LDRU, the pair met in 2014 when playing individual sets at a Brisbane nightclub, going on to form Carmada.
In 2015 they were headhunted by international producer Skrillex who was desperate to sign them to his label OWSLA, inevitably launching the two on the world stage.
“It solidified a lot more respect in the States … especially because it’s such a stiff market,” said Armata.
This tour will bring beats from their current EP “Realise” to the dance floor plus test new tunes written abroad.
Despite their quick rise to fame Armata still lives on the Coast and loves playing in Wollongong when he can.
“I played a gig there … and it was one of the craziest things I’ve ever seen, it was like so many people packed into a sardine tin but they were all having a good time and everyone was vibing,” he said.
