After spending much of the season at fullback before switching back to the wing, Morris scored 14 tries in 23 games and was one of the standouts in a season where St George Illawarra crashed out of finals contention.
It's the first time he has won the major award.
The Kiama junior was also revealed as the club's member popular choice during a glittering ceremony in Wollongong.
It was an emotional gathering with the club paying tribute to captain Ben Hornby, who took the Dragons to grand final glory two years ago, and Dean Young.
Young was picked by the members of the St George "Immortals" Reg Gasnier, Graeme Langlands and John Raper for the Immortals trophy, for services to the club.
New Zealand international Jason Nightingale, who will miss next week's Test in Townsville as he recovers from injury, won the community award.
Under 20 prop Charly Runciman was judged the Paul McGregor National Youth Cup player of the year.
