Lockheed Martin is providing the new MH-60 Romeo helicopters, the most capable and mature anti-submarine (ASW)/anti-surface warfare (ASuW) multi-mission aircraft, to the Australian Navy.
Well-known for his association with the Shoalhaven over many years during his time in the navy, Mr Di Pietro will succeed Raydon Gates who retires in January 2017.
He will be responsible to continue the growth of Lockheed Martin’s Australian and New Zealand businesses both domestically and for international export, as well as to work to deliver superior capability offerings to key customers in the region, reporting to senior vice-president, Lockheed Martin International, John Rood.
Mr Di Pietro’s appointment follows a distinguished career in the RAN which included service as the Commander of the Fleet Air Arm and Australia’s Naval Attaché to the United States. He was recognised with the appointment as a Member of the Order of Australia for exceptional service in June 2016.
“Vince’s 40-year career of exemplary service and leadership made him the ideal candidate to fill such a critical role for Lockheed Martin in Australia and New Zealand,” Mr Rood said.
“The calibre of this appointment reinforces the importance of the Australian and New Zealand markets to Lockheed Martin, and I’m delighted Vince will lead our organisation as we pursue opportunities to expand the innovative products and services to our partners.”
