New player in local TV news could cause problems for WIN - analyst

The Southern Cross-Nine pairing has led to the broadcaster launching one-hour news bulletins in 15 regional markets. The move will see it taking on WIN Television's local news monopoly.

A competitor going head to head in the local TV news market could see WIN Television cut back on its coverage, according to media analyst Steve Allen.
