The clash was hyped up after Kickert labeled Adelaide the “thirtysnitchers” on twitter after he was cited for head-butting Drmic in their first clash in Adelaide. Wright responded referring to the Brisbane “b ches” with both copping fines from the NBL.
It saw plenty of spite in the clash but the 36ers got the last laugh.
“I don’t think we did anything to deserve that kind of direction or attention,” Wright said post-match.
“It was something we talked about and I think it definitely fired the guys up.
“The Adelaide 36ers brand has been around a long time...to trash it was disrespectful not just to us as players an coaches but South Australia, the 36ers and all the great players that have played there.”
