The talented 24-year-old has made a solid start to life in the Australian ODI and Twenty20 teams and was rewarded for his consistency with a spot in the 14-man squad.
He is the only specialist spinner selected for the five-match series.
A Warilla junior, Zampa had already been capped on 19 occasions for Australian in the One-Day format and has also played eight Twenty20 Internationals.
The right-arm leg-break bowler has taken 30 wickets at 27.80 with best figures of 3 for 16.
Over the past month he has been a standout for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash competition.
In his latest match against crosstown rivals Melbourne Renegades, Zampa claimed 3 for 19. He will look to carry that form into Australia’s first ODI against Pakistan on January 13 at the Gabba.
