Manufacturing shows a solid expansion coming into 2017

The Australian Performance of Manufacturing Index is showing a solid expansion coming into 2017. The Ai Group report shows that during December manufacturing production, sales, exports and new orders all grew strongly. The food and beverage – petroleum, coal, chemicals and rubber products - non-metallic mineral products – and machinery and equipment sectors all saw healthy growth and metal products improved 1.8 points but remained in contraction.
