It will be Wilson’s first time public performance after battling brain cancer for the last two years.
He has played and sung a couple of times for friends and at a large fundraiser to help cover his medical costs at The Lagoon Restaurant in 2015.
But this Sunday will be his first show to the public in well over a year. He is playing at the new Inferno Restaurant & Bar from 1pm.
Regarded as one of Wollongong’s finest musicians and favourite son’s Wilson has fought a long battle with brain cancer since being diagnosed in April 2015.
Wilson appears to be winning his battle cancer battle much to the delight of family, friends and fans. And said he is looking forward to doing what he loves most and sharing it with people this weekend.
“I played recently for some friends who got together with me at Turkish Paradise and I am playing a private show this Saturday before my first public appearance on Sunday,” he said.
Wilson has been a friend of the owners of Inferno for a number of years.
Wilson’s return is expected to be so popular that bookings are required at Inferno restaurant.
Donations will also be taken on Sunday for The Cancer Council.
