The accident occurred shortly before 8.30am on the northbound side of the motorway, near the Gipps Road overpass.

It is understood to be a minor accident as it appears no ambulances were called to the scene.

Northbound traffic is already banking up along the motorway as far back as the Princes Highway overpass.

The accident site has since been cleared.
