A daughter of Where’s Pedro, Maya Herrara will jump from box one in her first run for more than four months in the Crownbet Stakes (520m).
“She’s just come off season and has came up with her best box which is good,” Edwards said.
“She’s been in work the past two months and has been trialling really good. She likes Dapto and so let’s hope her fitness can come to the fore. I am expecting a good show on Thursday.”
Maya Herrera had built a super record of 13 wins and 14 placings from 46 career starts heading into Thursday’s sprint.
“She’s been a good money spinner for the owners,” Edwards said.
“She made the Megastar final last year and ran fourth on that night in a race where I thought she was pretty unlucky.”
Race one jumps at 7.10pm.
