Burlesque artist Memphis Mae is bringing her Saffron Club showgirls to the stage and encouraging the audience to dress for the occasion.
“What inspired me with burlesque was the powerful attitude of the women on stage. Women doing it for themselves and creating art that represented them in a body positive way,” she said.
“I had worked in offices for many years and said to myself I need more glam and glitz and glitter in my life, then I found burlesque and now I eat glitter for breakfast.”
Ms Mae has been performing and producing shows for more than six years and said the art form is fun, sexy and all inclusive.
She loves making the audience laugh and get them involved in a “memorable evening”.
