Luke from Leisure Coast Tackle at Corrimal reported the cool weather and westerly winds certainly put a big downer on the fishing effort this past week.
A few diehards put in last weekend to chase snapper but unfortunately found the barracouta in near plague numbers.
Continually moving spots only allowed a few plastic jig drops before the couta took their toll on the gear, but the reds were there but only pan sized to around the single kilo mark.
The beaches have fished quite well with a fair number of mulloway being captured, tagged and released to assist DPI/Fisheries with their tagging and mulloway movement scientific study that is in full swing.
A great result for the time and efforts some guys have been putting in despite the chilly cold nights.
