- Warilla Hotel FC
Results for the July monthly are in for Warilla Hotel FC that show Danny Colville taking out biggest bag with an excellent species mix totaling six kilograms.
Mystery fish section was won by Joe Sciberras with his bream however fish of the month section was not contested so will double up for the August species, which is trevally.
- Illegal catch
DPI/Fisheries Officers recently apprehended a man at Port Kembla after he was observed concealing a catch bag (allegedly full of abalone) in bitou bush near the northern end of MM Beach.
After a short search, the bag was located and was found to contain 34 blacklip abalone which had been shucked including one undersized abalone.
Investigations continue and the man now faces potential charges including possessing shucked abalone, possessing prohibited size abalone and aggravated possession of abalone.
Minimum size limit for blacklip abalone is 11.7cm, the bag and possession limit is two and it is illegal to shuck abalone in, on or adjacent to all NSW waters.
