Scooter Dave as he prefers to called, found himself grounded a few weeks back when his trusty scooter just simply wore out and could not be repaired.
Local businesses stepped in, especially Lyn and Chris from Independent Homes Care Services in Wollongong who kindly donated a brand new scooter. A huge public thanks goes their way.
Craig Rushby from the Compleat Angler shop at Windang donated an expensive fishing rod to be raffled, and that was won by a very happy James Garbutt.
A big thank you also goes out to the many others who donated cash and goods and services that will be used for future maintenance and upkeep.
Wollongong Council has also elected one of their cleaning staff to assist Dave in the required clean-up.
