With three points and nine goals between them and a top-five berth, Wollongong must beat Sydney FC convincingly and hope fifth placed Sydney Olympic suffer a dramatic collapse against Sutherland Sharks on Sunday.
“We do need a miracle to make it but for us it is all about finishing the season on a high note,” Timpano said.
“We will go into the match as we have done all season. We’ve been in good form throughout the second half of the season so hopefully that can continue.
“They beat us when we met earlier this season and that result has probably proved costly now as well.”
Wollongong will welcome back star midfielder Nick Montgomery for their must-win match against the Sky Blues, who beat the Wolves 2-1 when the two clubs met earlier this season. Kick-off is 3pm at WIN Stadium.
