Ms Kuit has been an Illawarra Hawks cheerleader since 2014 and loves the atmosphere at the home games during the NBL season.

“I have been dancing since I was four,” she said.

“I do this for the love of it. I have always supported the Hawks since I was young. I always aspired to be a cheerleader back then. I have really enjoyed it and definitely would like to continue. And I did a Diploma of Performing Arts at ED5 International where I acquired more technique and skills”.

JLD Entertainment director and choreographer Jacqueline Elliott said she was very excited to be involved with the Hawks this year and was planning to bring some changes to the cheerleading. She said it was great so many 30 dancers turned up for the audition on Sunday.

“There are a lot of new faces which is good to see,” Ms Elliott said.

“I love sporting events and creating great things for game day entertainment. I have danced in the NBL before. And I am excited to be part of the Hawks this season. I am loving today. There are some really great dancers here. We are looking to take 15 to 20. We will have call back next week and we will have a weekly training night leading into whatever game we have coming up.”
