Sponsorship and prizes list was best described as sensational by a club committee spokesman who was also looking to the heavens for some fair winds and following seas – especially after what we have been hammered with this past week.
The growing trend with these game fish tournaments is to load the prizes and awards away from catch and retain, in favour of the tag and release side of the ledger as a mark of responsible conservation of game fishing stocks.

Members of Shellharbour Game Fishing Club held their annual general meeting last Saturday and election of officers saw some old and new faces accept positions.
Club president is Steve Lamond, vice-president Trevor Lillico, secretary Carol Goodger, and Mark Coles holds the purse strings. Committee is Mark Hallings, Mitch Grey, Phil Lamond, Peter McDonald, weigh master Trevor Lillico and assistant weigh master is Jarrod Clarkson with recorder Brian Jones.
A reminder that if you need a fish weighed call Trevor first, but please respect he is a local businessman in Warilla. If he can't do it, he will call Jarrod or a committee member to do it as these are the only people eligible to weigh your fish. Have your capture book ready as it needs to be signed off once the fish is weighed.
