Lomax booted two clutch conversions in Saturday’s 18-14 win over Penrith to advance to week three of the finals. It’s not the first time he’s delivered in the clutch this season having landed a crucial field goal in the young Blues 35-28 win over Queensland in June.
It played no small part in picking up the coveted award on Monday night.
“It’s a good feeling but I think it was just capped off by a good performance from the boys that helped me perform a little bit better,” Lomax told NSWRL.com.
“Being around great coaches and players helped my game. [The game] really see-sawed a little bit but I was lucky to kick a field goal and then we scored in the corner right at the end. To win in such a tight game was a great feeling.”
