And the founders Aki Daikos and Simon Kappatos have not ruled out considering another in Wollongong.
“We are always open to opportunities. We came to Shellharbour because it is the right demographics and everybody likes sweets and desserts. It is a perfect mix for everyone and this is a great response. We are pretty excited about being here,” Mr Daikos said.
Interest was so high in the third Tella Balls store in NSW that the two men and their franchisees Mahesh Agarwal and Mahish Agrawal decided to open the doors early. The dessert bar was already full at the scheduled opening time of 11am keeping the 15 staff busy all day.
The first two Tella Balls Dessert Bars were located at Concord and Dulwich Hill after Mr Daikos and Mr Kappatos started the business from a simple idea they had for a dessert. That has grown into a range of Nutella filled desserts that all started with the original Tella Ball doughnut.
But the first customers on Thursday tried many different treats on the menu such as the doughnut sliders, doughnut fries, doughnut ice-cream cone, dessert lasagne, dessert kebab, house made crepe and pancakes.
To celebrate the opening the Shellharbour store is giving away free Tella Balls between 5pm and 7pm on Sunday.
