This weekend will see the opening of the 2017-2018 trout season across all flowing waters in NSW.
There has already been much speculation from local anglers as to whether there will be enough alpine snow melt to see a successful opener as early indications say there is currently very little river water running in the Snowy and Eucumbene rivers and not much visible snow on the foothills.
Although cold, the short sharp winter did not dump the usual amounts of snow and the winter season seemed to be very short and very dry.
Reminder to ensure your recreational fishing licence is current and to check the DPI/Fisheries website for individual local rules and regulations on the location/s you intend to fish, especially the Eucumbene size and bag limits now in force.
