A man has been charged over an alleged abduction of a woman, after an extensive police search across the state for the pair on Saturday.
The 33-year-old woman from the NSW Hunter region, was seen with Garry Fletcher, 36, in Glen Innes on the Northern Tablelands on Saturday morning.
Police were notified after the woman managed to make it known she was being held against her will when withdrawing money in Glen Innes, AAP reports.
Police allege Mr Fletcher had taken the woman against her will about 3.15am on Friday.
The two were known to each other, police said.
Police held serious concerns for her welfare and called on the public to help find the pair on Saturday.
Following an extensive search involving multiple police commands, the pair were found at a property on Pinkett Road at Red Range, near to Glen Innes, just after 5.30pm on Saturday.
The woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Mr Fletcher was arrested, and has been charged with eight offences, including detaining a person with intent to obtain advantage occasioning actual bodily harm; aggravated sexual assault; stalking/intimidating with intent to cause fear of physical harm; and break, enter and steal.
He has also been charged with failing to stop and driving dangerously during a police pursuit.
He was refused bail and was due to appear before Armidale Local Court on Sunday.
