Women’s Adventure Film Tour
A selection of short films have been chosen to highlight awesome women achieving their adventurous goals with real stories from a variety of cultures and sports around the world.
Bushwalk The Gong founder Jenae Johnston will be speaking at the event how getting outdoors as helped boost her mental health.

Music For The Mind
Music For The Mind is a mental health awareness concert aiming to break down the stigma. Through music they aim to do this and let all know that is OK to speak up and reach out for help!
LINEUP: Mixtape For The Drive; Jacob; Sixteen Days; Moaning Lisa; As We Fall; Proud Ground.
This is a Wollongong Youth Centre run event with the support of Headspace Wollongong – 6pm – 10pm.

‘Flourish’ exhibition opening
Lee Bethel's ‘Flourish’ untwines the possibilities for formal extension in process work.
The word itself describes both natural growth and a poetic physical gesture. In ‘Flourish’ we might find those parallels between Bethel's variations on a theme and changing states in nature.
Official opening at The Egg & Dart gallery, Raymond Road in Thirroul, 6pm – 8pm. The exhibition runs until November 4.
SATURDAY October 14
Woonona Public School P&C are putting on SING – the animated story of Koala Buster Moon who presides over a once-grand theatre that’s fallen on hard times.
Bring a picnic rug, blanket cushions etc – no large chairs. Gates open 5pm, movie starts at 7pm – enter via Liddle Street.

Opening of Tahmoor BMX track
There will be free BMX, mountain biking and freestyle demonstrations facilitated by the Born to Ride crew from 10am.
Riders of all ages and abilities are welcome to ride the track and there will also be a free BBQ lunch.
The NEW pump track has:
- a transfer connection between the proposed pump track and the existing jumps
- rollers throughout the track
- beams along key bends

Barney McAll to play Wollongong Jazz Series
Pianist and composer Barney McCall is performing at the Wollongong Conservatorium Jazz Series at Glennifer Brae 7pm.
His new album Hearing the Blood is a fusion of soul, choral music, and urban jazz.
The music reflects McAll’s vast and varied experiences as a professional musician in New York and Australia for nearly three decades.
Tickets: $17 general, $12 concession, $10 students. Children 12 and under FREE.

Unearthing a lot of ground Mooney’s hilarious show weaves anecdotes and cautionary tales into a patchwork that is him, like literally Mooney makes no qualms that the show is ‘like literally’ about him.

Dapto Scottish Fair
Illawarra Scottish Fair and Pipe Band Contest, Dandaloo Sports Grounds, Kanahooka Road, from 8:30am (presentations at 4pm).
Now in its 36th year, the annual Scottish Fair and Pipe Band contest is on again with pipers marching from around NSW and the ACT.
Gone Fishing Family Day
Enjoy a great family day with loads of free fun-filled activities including how to fish workshops, casting comps, goodie bags with bonus lures, expert fishing tips, how-to cook classes, touch tanks, and activity marquees.
Snappy the crab mascot will make an appearance and handing out lots of prizes.

South Coast Ballroom Spectacular
