While not specifying the month he was talking about, Mr Constance said in parliament on Thursday that in a month the Gong Shuttle carried 275,000 passengers.
“The rest of the bus region in total had 268,000 passengers,” Mr Constance said.
“So we've got empty buses and a bus service that people can’t get on.”
Mr Constance then reiterated his message to the people of the Illawarra.
“What this government has said is they can make a contribution to running the shuttle just like every other community in the state is paying for their public transport,” he said.
“Labor is looking after their mates in Wollongong.”
