The Illawarra under 15s continued their winning run with a victory over North Shore in Sunday’s Weblin Shield qualifying final.

The Illawarra batting innings was led by number three Sam Hobson, who scored 98 off just 112 balls. Late cameos to Matthew Garnero, 45, and Connor Gray, 20 not out, led the team to 8/205 off 50 overs.
Garnero followed up his batting effort with a strong bowling performance, dismissing opener Jayllen Naganayagam for a duck in the third over of the innings on the way to figures of 3/40.
North Shore were eventually bowled out for 159 in 45 overs.
The team will now face South Eastern in Sunday’s semi-final.
Sunday also marked the first round of the President’s Cup, with all Illawarra teams turning out impressive performances against quality Sydney opponents.
The under 11s, 13s, 14s and 16s all recorded victories, while the under 12s fell to North Shore.
