Govers cancelled out an early German goal when he converted a penalty corner in the 39th minute.
After initially mis-trapping the ball, he then fired home at the back post.
But the Germans launched a spirited second half fightback and were rewarded captain Martin Haner scored from a penalty corner in the 58th minute, the game ending in a 2-all draw.

“We knew that. They put it to us in the first half and I thought we worked really well to get back into the game.
“It’s disappointing to come away with the draw.
“We’re getting into this tournament. It’s a big tournament for us and we’re really looking forward to moving forward now.”
The draw comes after a 1-all stalemate to open the tournament against India. The Kookaburras now face England on Monday, starting at 11pm (AEDT).
England fell 2-nil to Germany in their opening game, but counced back with a 3-2 victory over India on Sunday.
The semi-finals start on Wednesday.
