Seasoned Illawarra musicians Darren Walsh (guitar), Dave McDonnell (bass), Nick Krout (drums), Snowy Tufnel (guitar) and Dean Jones (vocals) have recently formed a tribute band to pay respect to their ‘icons’ of rock Bon Scott and Doc Neeson.
The band, known as Ikonz, performs regularly around Illawarra venues winning over rock ’n’ roll fans as they perform hits from both AC/DC and The Angels.
One of these fans happens to be Tina Balfour, owner of B&T Cafe in Bellambi who will be hosting a meet and greet with the band this month to launch their latest menu item – The Ikonz Burger.
After renovating an old bait and tackle shop and turning it into an exciting new cafe, the cafe now sells Ikonz band merchandise as well as the highly anticipated burger.
Tina’s auntie, Iris Evelyn Tait, helped bring the band and cafe together and is also a big fan of the burger. “It’s big, it’s bigger than big, like the band.”
Be at B&T Cafe Bellambi on December 9 between 9am and 1pm to try the new Ikonz burger and meet the band.
