The athletes representing the Illawarra Surf Lifesaving Association will compete in a series of teams events against the 10 other NSW surf lifesaving branches at the two-day championships.
The competition marks the peak teams surf lifesaving event in the state.
Kevin Starling from Illawarra Surf Lifesaving Association said its an event the branch typically performs well at and he’s expecting another weekend of competitive results.
“Despite our size, Illawarra has always done well in this competition against the bigger branches,” Starling said.
“We expect to go well this year as well, right from the new kids in under 12s to the open competitors.”
Starling identified Bulli’s Holly Holmesby and Max Ottaway as athletes to watch at the event.
