She won the money off a $5 Instant Scratch-Its ticket purchased at Shellharbour Square Newsagency.
The woman said had been in a hurry to get home from buying groceries but popped quickly into the newsagency.
“I usually play crosswords and hadn’t played this particular ticket before so thought I would give it a go,” she said.
“I came home, packed the groceries away and started to scratch hoping I’d win something nice.
“Then I saw I’d scratched $100,000. I’ve never won anything like this before. It still hasn’t hit me.”
The woman plans to share some of her instant windfall with her family and save some for a rainy day.
“I’m very grateful to the universe for making this happen. It’s going to help my family so much!”
Shellharbour Square Newsagency owner Denise Grono said she was very excited one of her regular customers had won a top prize.
“We’ve sold top prizes on Instant Scratch-Its before but it’s been a few years so it was time we had another.
“It’s a great win just before Christmas.”
