Greg Silva, 23, was born with tuberous sclerosis, a rare genetic disorder which is believed to be the cause of his intellectual disability and his epilepsy.
After the Illawarra Mercury published a story on his brother Michael’s quest to get Greg a starring role, calling for the Illawarra’s support and to like a Facebook page that had been set up.
Hundreds got behind the campaign while the blue Wiggle himself, Anthony Field, also responded via Tweet. He said Greg was a “Wiggly legend!” and he was “looking forward to filming with him and his good brother Michael, next year”.
“I opened the message up and I started boiling [sic] my eyes out, I'm still in shock, and Greg is absolutely beside himself,” Michael said. “How blessed me and Greg are to live in such a loving and caring community, from the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.”
