Driving is a privilege
This will be difficult to stop because no government or organisation can make those brain dead drivers who have no respect or interest in any one but themselves add to this alcohol, drugs and mobile phones and the results are as we have witnessed.

Until people learn that driving is privilege and that roads are a shared carriage way and that everybody has a family that they love and that they are not the centre of the universe then this carnage will continue to escalate.
Perhaps if offendeders had their cars crushed and the resulting block dropped on their front lawn and were sentenced to work in a hospital emergency dept for a holiday period they would perhaps realise what really happens in the real world and believe me it is heart rending to witness, I know from experience.

Unbeliever wants to be rational
Response to the letter by Barry Swan, "A CLEAR INSIGHT INTO A HIGHER BEING" Mercury, Saturday December 30, 2017. Mr Swan claims I am a self-styled expert in creationism, while I would suggest Mr Swan is a self-styled expert in delusion and denial. My medical knowledge of the human eye came from Dr. Joseph L. Calkins, M.D. who is Assistant Professor of Opthalmology at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. So, I did my research.
British philosopher, Dr Antony Flew was a leading spokesman for atheism. However, scientific discoveries within the past 30 years brought him to a conclusion he could not avoid. In a December 2004 interview he stated, "It is legitimate to ask oneself regarding the three billion letter code instructing each DNA cell, who wrote this script? Who placed this working code inside the cell? Super-intelligence is the only good explanation for the origin of life and the complexity of nature. At the University of Louisville, Dr Doug Borchman has studied the human eye for more than 30 years. He claims "there is still much more to learn, I am in awe of some of the things I see." Borchman also claims "I believe God gave us science to show He exists."
The unbeliever wants to be rational, yet he hold an irrational view of the universe. He denies the possibility of true knowledge even while he pursues knowledge, and he tells us (believers) we do not know what we are talking about. In essence, the evolutionist says "nobody knows for sure, but I am sure your wrong."

Security under threat?
Why is the Minister for Australia’s security telling us to be afraid ?
Is he saying he can't do his job ?

Take some responsibility
Peter Dutton says we should be terrified of eating out in Melbourne because of “African Crime Gangs”.
As a totally disabled ex serviceman I will be visiting Melbourne tomorrow for my regular psych appointments.
I will eat lunch and dinner in Melbourne restaurants, I doubt I will be terrified.
What does terrify me is that in 2017, 84 veterans like myself took their own lives, on several occasions I was close to being the 85th.
I simply could not cope with the callous and unprofessional behaviour of so many DVA staff and with the staff of the then Minister Dan Tehan refusing to even speak with me because his department had told them not to.
To my knowledge no one has been killed by an “African Crime Gang” but so many of us veterans have died after being forced to deal with an uncaring and inflexible government system.
Stop diverting attention Mr Dutton, time for the adults who are in change to actually take some responsibility for a change.
