Balgownie batsman Graeme Batty has added yet another accolade to a sparkling career after NSW Country claimed the Australian Country Championships on Saturday.

NSW Country headed into the final day of play needing a victory over South Australia Country and a Victoria Country loss in order to be crowned overall champions after the team blitzed the Twenty20 competition, but started the one-day portion of the championships with three losses.

Bowling first, the NSW bowlers quickly cleaned through the South Australia Country batsmen. SA Country were all out for 95.

The NSW Country batsmen reached the total in just 20.1 overs. Jordan Moran top scored with 45 off 44 balls. Batty did not bat.

With the victory secured, NSW Country watched as Queensland Country comfortably chased down Victoria Country’s 263.

The Queensland Country victory saw NSW Country leapfrog Victoria Country and claim the overall title.
