Ms Holtznagel describes her daughter Simone as someone who has a lot of empathy and a ‘can do’ outlook.
“She’s gone in with the attitude of ‘I can do this’. If she wants something she’ll go for it, that’s something I’ve taught her from a young age.”
This is not Simone Holtznagel’s first time on TV, having appeared on Australia’s Next Top Model back in 2011, but Margaret Holtznagel says it’s very different, not knowing what is happening until it appears on TV.
“It’s different to Top Model. That was all pre-recorded so she was back home and we had to keep it a secret. It’s surprising how many people don’t realise (I’m a Celebrity) is a live show! I have to wait like everyone else.”
The model now lives in Los Angeles to continue pursuing her modelling career, but makes sure to come home frequently and call at least once a week.
“She’s pretty family oriented. The last time I spoke to her was on the 23rd of January, so it’s pretty weird not having contact,” Ms Holtznagel said.
“I think she’s going to have a great time, she was really looking forward to it. She was nervous but she’ll do well. She’s a really strong person.”
