On Saturday there will be a family afternoon where the kids can get their faces painted or do some colouring in, while mum and dad browse the tables.

On Sunday, all remaining stock is half the marked price.

Lifeline South Coast community partners, Southern.IML Pathology will be running a book donation point in the carpark. Customers can drive up, unload their boot of books to donate, then go inside and restock their shelves.

Lifeline South Coast Big Book Fair coordinator, Clare Leslie, says a fantastic part of the Book Fair is the massive range of books available.

“Our book sorting volunteers do an amazing job in sorting, cleaning, categorising, pricing and packing a huge range of books and making them available for our customers at our Book Fair events,” she said.

The Big Book Fair will be held between 9am and 5pm on Friday, March 9 and Saturday, March 10 plus between 9am and 4pm on Sunday, March 11 at the Illawarra Sports Stadium, Berkeley.

Entry to the event is via gold coin donation and eftpos will be available for purchases.

Lifeline’s Big Book Fair is the major fundraising event for Lifeline South Coast. Funds raised at the Fair go toward Lifeline services including Lifeline’s 24-hour crisis support service in the Illawarra and South Coast on 13 11 14.

Recent Australian Bureau of Statistics data revealed that last year we lost 2,866 Australians to suicide.

Lifeline believes we can all have a role to play in suicide prevention. Being a local service means that the funds raised locally stay here in our community and are used to help local people talk about their problems and find ways to solve them.

Last year, Lifeline South Coast answered 23,500 calls from people in the Illawarra and South Coast.
