Green slip refunds about to land in your bank account

In a month or two, the government will be giving Illawarra residents some money – more than $2000 in some cases.

The cash is a partial refund on what people paid for their 2017 green slip, following on from the state government’s changes to the CTP insurance scheme.

The changes were introduced on December 1 and saw green slips drop in price by around $120.

In terms of the refund, the closer to December 1 someone renewed their green slip, the greater the refund.

The government has been conducting a trial of the refund system, in areas of NSW.

A spokesman for Services Minister Victor Dominello said the trials were going well and refunds for everyone will be available in the next month or so.

Once people have been notified of their refund, it can be claimed via the Service NSW website.

People will need to create an account to access their refund, which will be transferred electronically to their bank account.

They can also visit a Service NSW centre or call the contact centre on 13 77 88.
