Played in extremely hot conditions, the schedule was cut short by a series of cancellations in the week prior.
“We had four teams pull on in the week leading up to the day,” Batemans Bay Boars president Matt Ryan said.
“I don’t think any of the teams were disappointed to only play two games on such a hot day though.”
The matches started with Kiama taking on Batemans Bay at 12.30pm.
Kiama quickly showed their class in the match, as their forward dominance led them to a 5-0 halftime lead.
They would continue with that in the second half, running out 15-0 winners to advance to the Grand Final.
The second match saw Jindabyne and Gungahlin play out a 5-5 draw. Gungahlin were declared the winners on the first penalty rule.
Batemans Bay took on Jindabyne in the third-place match, and ran away with a comfortable 20-5 victory.
The forward pack was much improved against Jindabyne, dominating the scrum on their way to an easy win.
The day ended with a classic match-up between Kiama and Gungahlin, with the Illawarra side scoring a lone try for a 5-0 victory.
