Located at 417 Wallaby Hill Road, the private 120-acre property offers 180-degree expansive views over Jamberoo Valley, Lake Illawarra and the Illawarra coastline.
The home was built a little more than 30 years ago by the current owners.
On arrival, owners and visitors take a sealed road all the way to the private automatic gate, which opens out onto the cleared pastures surrounding the residence.
Designed specifically to exploit the position, aspect and views, the sandstock home was designed by Ronald A Gilling and includes antique cedar front door, softly hued interior, cedar French doors, thematically controlled home heating system, wood combustion fireplace and full-length verandahs.
Steve Pryor of Raine & Horne Kiama is the listing agent.
Co-agent Paul Belleville said the property had a price guide between $2.9 million and $3.3 million.
He said it was expected to go to auction at a date yet to be determined.
“It sits at the top of Saddleback ridge line and has 180 degrees totally unobstructed coastal and rural views,” he said.
“It would suit someone looking for a rural scenic escape or a buyer who’s into cattle or horses.”
The property also has self-contained separate guest accommodation over a triple car garage.
On the farm you will find open paddocks, five-hole golf course greens, cattle yards and machinery shed.
In February 2016, a luxury home, converted from part of the historic Jamberoo Milk Factory, sold for $1.48 million.
Its sister property was recently listed on the market.
The property at 31 Factory Lane, Jamberoo was listed for sale earlier this year for $2,180,000.
It sold for $2 million to an Illawarra buyer.
In the early 2000’s at the time of milk deregulation, the industry property on Factory Lane was transformed into two residential dwellings.
According to Australian Property Monitors, 31 Factory Lane previously sold for $1.1 million in 2013.
The property had been listed for sale in mid-2016.
Agent Vivienne Marris, principal at Elders Real Estate Jamberoo told the Mercury that the Jamberoo Milk Factory, built in 1928, still continues to play a part in the Jamberoo Valley, “not as a commercial venture but as an extraordinary home and a strong visual reminder of a legendary past”.
