The camp will be final preparations ahead of Jack Newton Junior Golf’s (JNJG) Illawarra Junior Masters to be held later this month.
The golfers will head to Berry for training on their newly created Golf Driving Range before tournament practice at The Moss Vale Junior Open on Sunday.
The Moss Vale Junior Open is the first round of Golf Illawarra’s newly created Touchdown Helicopters Junior Open Series.
The series is an initiative of Golf Illawarra in conjunction with the IAS and JNJG, to promote junior golf throughout the District through a meaningful local competition.
It is aimed at young aspiring golfers from 10 years of age, who are members of a golf club and have a GA Handicap. Golf Illawarra will run six events during the Series season and a final 36-hole event. The qualifying events will take place from April to December 2018 with the final 36-hole event to be held in January 2019.
For each of the six events, the winners of each age group will receive individual points. Players will strive to accumulate points to qualify for the 36-hole championship Final. The winner of each age group at each individual event during the season will automatically qualify for the final event for the chance to be crowned Overall Champion of each age group.
At each event, there will be both individual and team events conducted. The team’s score will be made up of the best 3 of the 4 Stableford scores at each of the 6 events and the final. Points will be awarded to each team depending on the position they finish at the daily event.
