Over 50 per cent of all six-year-olds have experienced tooth decay, and more than 24,000 children under 14 were hospitalised for dental treatment in 2013-14 alone.
Research shows that it is far cheaper to spend money on preventive measures than corrective treatment.
Albion Park Dental, established over 30 years ago, is a patient-centred dental practice dedicated to the highest level of general, cosmetic and preventative dental care.
Current principal dentist Wendy Shin has been with Albion Park Dental for 10 years and dentist Wayne Suh graduated from Sydney University. The team is well trained in dealing with babies and young children.
“Treatment offered always has the patient’s best interests in mind, not just their teeth in trouble,” Dr Shin said. “Our facility and equipment are state of the art and we have payment plans to make treatment more accessible to patients.”

“Prevention is always better than the cure,” they said. “We recommend treatments for potential problems that may affect your general well-being and children’s teeth development, such as orthodontic and sleep disordered breathing.
“We can also help you feel confident about your smile, avoid embarrassment in public and to be able to chew food more easily.”
The earlier your child visits the dentist the better - by age one or first tooth, as they discuss teething, brushing techniques, bite (how your children’s teeth come together), thumb sucking, nutritional advice preventing decay and trauma.
“We bulk bill for the CDBS (no out of pocket cost within the $1000 limit) and check if children are eligible for Medicare services. We will explain all probable expenses and get your consent in writing before treatment begins.”
