With 20 pipe bands, highland games, the Tartan Warriors, dancers, stalls and clan representations, Brigadoon is the largest event of its kind in Australia.
The 41st annual gathering will kick off at 8am in the village by members of the attending massed bands which will be followed by a street parade at 9am.
The fun won’t stop there – with over 18 things to see and do, there will be something for everyone.
Bundanoon Highland Gathering Inc. vice president Alastair Saunders said the highlights of Brigadoon 2018 will include the Bundanoon stones of manhood, and the Australian heavy weight champions.
“There will also be a performance by a new group, Green Jam, who will be singing on the oval at 9am and again in the afternoon,” Mr Saunders said.
“I’m looking forward to seeing them bring some real Scottish entertainment to Brigadoon.”
Other events include stone putt, hammer, weight for distance, caber, and weight for height.
There will be Scottish games for the children as well as a Bonnie Bairns competition for children under the age of four.
Mr Saunders said he anticipated a large crowd for the event.
“The reaction on social media has been outstanding,” he said.
“I’m looking forward to a strong crowd of 10 to 12 thousand people.
“I think the reason why the event remains so popular is because we provide top-class entertainment and are performers are outstanding.
“There’s not many places that can have Scottish entertainment and games for the children all in one place. We are a one-off event.”
Mr Saunders promised a memorable finale.
“There will be 25 bands and pipers performing in the finale,” he said.
“It is going to be quite outstanding.”
Brigadoon will be held on Saturday, April 7 at Bundanoon Oval, Erith Street, Bundanoon.
Mr Saunders has asked visitors to be mindful of parking and the crowds.
With accommodation completely booked out in the Southern Highlands for this event, there will be a large crowd.
The event will cost $20 for adults, $18 for concession card holders, and $10 for children.
A family pass for two adults and two children will be available for $50.
