The Wollongong Wolves are set to receive a massive boost for their clash against Sydney United 58 with talisman Nick Montgomery poised to make his return for the road encounter.
Montgomery has sat out Wollongong’s last two matches, including their latest FFA Cup win, as he continues to battle knee soreness.
He was absent from the club’s thrilling last minute win over Hakoah last week, but is expected to suit up for the Wolves’ stoush at Sydney United Sports Centre on Saturday night.
“Hopefully he can get back out there because his leadership is so valuable for us,” Wolves coach Jacob Timpano.
“Steve Hayes has done a terrific job while he has been out and [Brendan Griffin] did well we he came on last weekend.”
The Wolves and United sit fourth and fifth respectively on the ladder heading into the match. Meanwhile, South Coast Flame face Bankstown United at Crehan Park.
