However, Brewing Up A Storm supervisor, Rachel Turk, couldn’t be happier to face that scenario when three of her staff head to Adelaide to represent NSW at the Special Olympics National Games next week.
She will be without three baristas, with Timothy Walsh, Danielle Slade and Jessica Duncan representing their state in different sports.
Everybody here, including our regular customers, are so proud of them.

Walsh will compete in both singles and doubles tennis, Slade will be swimming in the 200m freestyle and the 200m and 100m breaststroke, while Duncan will be play basketball.
“I am very, very excited. I will get to represent NSW and I will get new skills and make new friends – it is a big achievement for me,” Walsh said.
Brewing Up A Storm, located in Burelli Street Wollongong, is a Greenacres community enterprise staffed by people with disability.
“It is amazing that less than 20 people were picked from all of the Illawarra and three of them happen to work at this cafe,” Turk said.
“Everybody here, including our regular customers, are so proud of them – I just wish I could go to Adelaide too so I could cheer them on.”
