RISING Cringila boxing star Jeremiah Jabbour is hoping to use his triumph at the recent national titles as a springboard to higher honurs after winning selection on the Australian team for the Oceania youth boxing titles in Samoa next month.

Jabbour, who trains out of Crockers Gym under veteran trainer Vito Gaudiosi, has been a recent tear, having claimed the NSW and Australian light-heavyweight titles in quick succession.

A win at the Oceania Titles would put him on the path to a spot on the Australian team for next year’s Youth World Championships, and ultimately a shot at the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.

“This is the path he’s set out for  himself and he’s progressing really, really well,” Gaudiosi said.

“He’s still a relative novice, so to have won a national title after only 14 fights is very impressive for the young man.

“He’s really dedicated to his craft and he’s worked really, really hard. We’ve still got a lot of hard work in front of us but he’s definitely on the right path.”
