Wiseman Park’s Brian Suckley and Albion Park’s Carl McDonagh are locked at 21-21, while Robin Smith (Wiseman Park) leads Stuart Ellem (Dapto Citizens) 23-14 in the fight for a final spot.
“It was tough; the mat was being blown across the green and there wasn’t much we could do but come off and hope the wind died down a bit,’’ Smith said.
Conditions did not improve leaving both semi-finals to be rescheduled to this Sunday morning, with the final to follow.
In the Senior Singles, the round of 16 and quarter-finals were played last Saturday with Carl McDonagh beating Warren Kelly (Oak Flats) 31-15 and Dallas Dellatorre (Warilla) 31-23 to advance to the semi-finals.
Brian Suckley ended the run of two-time Senior Singles champion Rick Malley 31-17 and then beat Terry Boniface (Kiama) 31-17.
Former Zone 16 Fours champion Robin Smith beat Grant Rogers (Shoalhaven Heads) 31-24 and Ray Parkes (Towradgi) 31-20; while Stuart Ellem beat Kiama’s Mick Weir 31-30 in arguably the match of the championship, and overcame Citos clubmate Noel Davis 31-17 in their quarter-final.
