The year 12 student was part of Australia’s “history making” team which won a silver, two bronze medals and an honourable mention at the seventh annual EGMO, held in Florence, Italy on April 9-15.
The team achieved strong results with Grace He finishing with a silver medal, Alice Zhang and Ellen Zheng both receiving bronze medals and Yifan Guo an honourable mention.
Overall, Australia finished 20th out of 52 countries, much to the pleasure of Australian Mathematics Trust CEO Nathan Ford.
“The Trust congratulates our inaugural EGMO team on their fantastic results,” he said.
“It’s wonderful to see the team’s hard work pay off.
“I would also like to recognise the significant effort and leadership of team leader Thanom Shaw and deputy team leader Michelle Chen in preparing and supporting the team.”
