The Superoos steadied last week with a hard-fought 26-18 win over Albion Park-Oak Flats, after being flattened by grand final opponents Kiama to start the season.
But Milton-Ulladulla have emerged as the early pace-setters with wins over Nowra-Bomaderry and the Stingrays.
It’s the Dogs’ biggest chance yet to show they are contenders this season.
“There’s a lot of belief in the group that we’re able to compete at this level,” Milton-Ulladulla coach Brendan Fernley said after beating the Jets.
“… There’s a real connection between the players that they want to play for each other and especially this time of the year it will get you some results.
“We just want to win as many games as we can right now.”
Elsewhere, Gerringong and Warilla put their unbeaten starts on the line in a Saturday blockbuster, while the Stingrays try to muscle up against the Sharks in the Shellharbour derby on Sunday at Flinders Field.
