Construction on the licenced putt-putt course, which will open in the space next to the David Jones Food Court on the lower ground floor of the city mall, has been underway for some weeks.
The bar has also lodged its licence application with the NSW Office of Liquor Gaming and Racing, with submissions to be reviewed in mid-May.
The GPT Group lodged the application for a Wollongong Holey Moley in January, saying the Wollongong venue would be capable of serving up to 300 people.
If approved as requested, it will open from 10am to midnight from Sunday to Thursday, and 10am to 1am on Friday and Saturday.
Access to the mini-golf club will be via the normal Keira Street mall entry, or via Globe Lane. The shopping centre developer hopes the new venue will bring life to the “night-time economy” of the mall and laneway.
The fit-out will include 18 holes of “pop-culture inspired” golf, a bar, restaurant and service area and private karaoke rooms.
The Wollongong outlet of the mini-golf chain is one of 11 already open or under construction around Australia.
