The Warriors conceded 13 penalties throughout the match, many occuring when the Dragons were on the attack. While frustrated at times, Nightingale was happy to see referees continue to blow penalties as long as they are consistent. 

“They were frustrating,” Nightingale said. “But that’s what they are trying to outlaw. We had the same thing, when they were down our end, we were getting pinged. 

“I think it’s great that they’re keeping you honest, but it’s obviously an effective way of defending, which is a shame. But we got pinged when we were down on our own line trying to defend.

“I think they’re doing the right thing by sticking on top of them, and once they got the ball on our line, we gave away a couple of ill-disciplined penalties too. As long as they stick at it, I think that’s the main thing.”
