Presently at Wollongong Delivery Centre in Auburn Street she previously worked for the new parcel centre in North Wollongong and prior to that in Canberra.
She recommends Australia Post as a good employer for young people to consider with many opportunities.
Ms Cropper grew up in Tarrawanna and attended Corrimal High School before starting work with Australia Post in 1988 as a delivery driver in a part of the company at that time called Express Courier.
She then spent time as a postal services officer at the counter in a post office before working in entitlements and then doing deliveries as a postie on a motorbike for nine years.
After that she became a delivery coordinator and a delivery manager on the operations management side.
Ms Cropper now helps delivery manager Don Kane with operations support at the Wollongong Delivery Centre.
“I have stayed with Australia Post for 30 years because it treats its staff very well,” she said.
"They do a lot of training in safety for all the staff. It is a very good company. And if you want to do training in something they will help you out. All the training is second to none. They support their workers very well.”
Ms Cropper said the present site she works at is her favourite because of her manager and staff.
“People here are wonderful,” she said.
Ms Cropper said it is not uncommon for employees to stay for a long time.
Three staff recently retired who had all worked for Australia Post more than 44 years. One of them 49. And there are two existing staff with more than four decades service.
Mr Kane said Ms Cropper was a valued member of the leadership group at the delivery centre in Auburn Street and her wealth of knowledge was second to none.
