Speaking to a NSW Lotteries official today to confirm her prize, the woman admitted the winning ticket she purchased from Warilla Grove Newsagency had been hiding in plain sight in her purse the whole time.

“I have had the ticket sitting in my purse for the past two weeks and I just casually pulled it out yesterday when I was buying wrapping paper for a gift at the newsagency” she said.

“And then when I scanned my ticket, it said I needed to contact a local office, and I just though it must have been a little over $50. I have been buying Lucky Lotteries tickets for years and years, and I try and buy at least one ticket a week. And whenever I am in a strange town or feeling a bit lucky, I make sure I buy a ticket. Because I am not registered, there is always the chance I could lose my ticket, which I have done in the past, but I am so glad I didn’t lose this one or just chuck it out. This is absolutely the biggest prize I have ever won.”

The regular Lucky Lotteries player already has some plans for her windfall.

“I am going to share it with my husband, we share everything. He likes to call me money bags, but its half and half and that’s the way I like it,” she said.

“It’s funny because during the past two weeks we have been creating budgets, and yet little did we know, we had all this money the whole time. It really has been a great windfall! I am so over the moon, it is a lovely surprise.”

Warilla Grove Newsagency owner Jack Spencer said the outlet was ecstatic to have sold a first prize winning Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot entry.

“It is very exciting, the whole outlet is ecstatic and we are very happy for the customer,” he said.

“Hopefully we sell some more winning tickets. That’s the plan now.”

The Lucky Lotteries Super Jackpot continues to climb with draw 10224 now sitting at $2.58 million.

The Lucky Lotteries Mega Jackpot is offering $11.08 million for draw 1093.
