The company has 23 former Olympic, World, European and National Championship-level skaters who will perform a contemporary interpretation of the classic story, to Tchaikovsky’s score at the WIN Entertainment Centre.
The athletes are said to do more than glide around gracefully, but add to the drama of the story with acrobatic, gymnastics and flying sequences on the ice.
The intricate costumes are also designed by costumier Albina Gabueva of Moscow’s Stanislavsky Theatre, and made by the Bolshoi Ballet’s famous costume cutters.
The show features exquisite, innovative choreography as well as powerful story-telling created by award-winning artistic director Tony Mercer.
